Ranked Play is finally live in Black Ops 6 allowing users to compete to achieve the highest rank possible. This competitive ladder offers matches with the CDL competitive rules and map set, mimicking the highest level of competition. The mode offers exclusive rewards as incentives to players for grinding and climbing.
If you want to start playing more competitively, here’s how to unlock Ranked Play in Black Ops 6, and what to expect in Black Ops 6’s version of Ranked.
To unlock Ranked Play in Black Ops 6, you’ll need to get 50 wins in matchmade multiplayer games.
If you’re wondering if you have enough wins to play Ranked, head to the Black Ops 6 main menu and look for the “Ranked Play” button at the bottom of your screen. If there is a progress bar underneath the button, you’ll need some more wins in order to play Ranked. If you don’t see anything underneath, you’re good to go.
Just like in previous years, Ranked Play features eight ranks for players to place in. Here is the list of ranks along with the SR range for each one:
Bronze – Starting Rank
Silver – 900 SR
Gold – 2,100 SR
Platinum – 3,600 SR
Diamond – 5,400 SR
Crimson – 7,500 SR
Iridescent – 10,000 SR
Top 250 – 10,000+ SR
Each tier except for Iridescent and Top 250 has three tiers (Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III) and you progress through them in ascendant order as you gain SR.
As you’d expect, SR is deducted with every loss, regardless of how well you might have played individually. Wins are factored above all else. Thankfully, your first loss of a day is forgiven and won’t impact SR, so you get some time to warm up. Ranks are then reset at the end of every season, and depending on where you finish up, it’ll impact where you start the next season. Below is a breakdown courtesy:
Bronze or Silver Ranked players are not impacted by the Seasonal setback and will be able to pick up where they ended each Season with no SR deduction.
Gold or Platinum players will start the next Season in Tier I of Gold or Platinum respectively.
Diamond and above players will start the next Season at Diamond I.
There is a wide variety of rewards in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play:
Rank Skins – Reach Gold or higher to earn their respective Home and Away skin available on the “Competitor” Operator. You’ll receive these skins as soon as you’re promoted into the rank, except for the Top 250 skin, which will be rewarded to players in the Top 250 at the end of the season.
Win Challenges – Hit career win milestones over the course of multiple seasons to earn rewards such as skins and blueprints.
Seasonal Rewards – Each season will have their own rewards that are only available during that season. Seasonal Rank rewards will be rewarded as soon as you reach each Rank threshold instead of at the end of the season.
